Free Parking in Singapore: Complete Guide to HDB Free Parking Hours
Did you know most HDB carparks offer free parking on Sundays and public holidays? Here's exactly when and where you can park for free across Singapore.
Most drivers don't realise this: the majority of HDB carparks in Singapore offer free parking on Sundays and public holidays. That's potentially 60+ days of free parking a year.
Here's everything you need to know about free parking in Singapore — when it applies, where to find it, and the exceptions to watch out for.
When Is Parking Free at HDB Carparks?
The standard free parking window for most HDB carparks is:
- Sundays — typically 7:00 AM to 10:30 PM
- Gazetted public holidays — same hours as Sunday
Outside these hours (before 7am or after 10:30pm), normal rates apply. And on regular weekdays and Saturdays, there's no free parking.

Which Carparks Don't Offer Free Parking?
Not every HDB carpark participates. The exceptions:
- Carparks marked "NO" in the HDB free parking field — these charge standard rates 7 days a week
- Short-term carparks near hawker centres or markets — these often have different rules
- LTA and URA carparks — free parking only applies to HDB-managed carparks
- Coupon parking carparks — these don't have electronic gantries, so the rules are different
How to Check if a Carpark Has Free Parking
On ParkingGoWhere, carparks with free parking show a "Free Now" label when free parking is currently active. You can also filter the entire map to show only free parking carparks using the "Free Now" filter.
